The Bass Pro Conservation Marathon is a great race for first-time competitors looking for an event with a great course and first class amenities. Runners and walkers from all around Missouri and the world will participate in the Bass Pro Conservation Marathon.

The scenic marathon course starts at the flagship Bass Pro Shop store in Springfield, Missouri. Participants will run on a couple beautiful trails in addition to running through some historic and picturesque residential neighborhoods. Participants will run by Route 66 as they move through the downtown area of Springfield and past Missouri State University. The race will finish on Cherokee Avenue at the North entrance to Bass Pro Shops.

People run or walk marathons for many reasons including honoring someone special in their lives, meeting personal goals, or striving for personal health and fitness. A marathon is a personal challenge like no other and whether this is your first or your 20th marathon, we want this experience to inspire you just like your efforts inspire others.

Time Limit Rules

The marathon course route re-opens to traffic at a rolling schedule according to a 6.5 hour marathon pace or (15 minutes per mile) beginning 15 minutes after the official race start. The marathon finish line will officially close at 1:30 PM but we will wait for every runner and walker to complete their race before we completely close down.  Every runner and walker will receive finish line amenities and race volunteers and staff will be on hand to greet every finisher.

With this in mind, remember that we will leave our aid stations open on the second half of the route for our walkers. We encourage all walkers to follow safety standards while on the course. We are glad that you are walking with us and want this experience to be exceptional.
