The News-Leader 5K (3.1 miles) is great for both runners and walkers who want to have some fun while achieving their fitness goals. This is a great race to do with family members and friends!

The 5K is mostly flat. It shares the routes of the Bass Pro Conservation Marathon and the Cohick Half Marathon. Participants in the News-Leader 5K will complete their races before most of the half and full marathoners enter this part of the course. The race starts at the Bass Pro Shops Springfield store's Grand Entrance, 1935 South Campbell Avenue and ends in the White River Conference Center's Parking Lot, 600 West Sunshine Street, directly behind Bass Pro Shop.  The route takes our runners through Springfield on gorgeous paths which are known for displaying beautiful Autumn foliage of the Ozarks during Marathon Weekend's time of year.
