We do not offer registration refunds. You may transfer your registration to another event one week prior to the event. No race transfers will be made on race day and bibs cannot be transferred to other runners.
Training for the Marathon and Half Marathon
Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners (OMRR) is offering a training program for the Maynard Cohick Half Marathon and the Bass Pro Conservation Marathon. It is free to all OMRR members (annual membership costs $20.00 for a family). The training will consist of a 16 week schedule with weekend group runs. Group runs will be at AM and OMRR will provide water stops and routes.
The training kick off will take place on Thursday, June 28th, 6:00 PM, Phelps Grove Park. The first long run will take place on the first Saturday of July 7. OMRR gives everyone a schedule to follow and a friend with whom to run those long runs!

Nixa Running Group offers training each week, year round. Their training schedule is as follows:
- Tuesdays: 4:45 am (5 miles)
- Wednesdays: 4:45 am (4 miles)
- Thursdays: 4:45 am (5 miles)
- Saturdays: 6:00 am (4 miles)
- Sundays: 5:00 am (long runs)
Mileage is dependant on the event for which we are training.
This group meets at Aldersgate Church in Nixa. The address is 460 W Aldersgate, across from the Wal-Mart SuperCenter. Get Directions
Galloway Run/Walk/Run Method is sponsored by CoxHealth. The Galloway Method helps runners by providing specific, timed walk breaks in between running periods. This group started in May.

New for 2013, certified Chi Running instructor, Sue Johnson, is offering a Chi Running training program for people interested in completing the Cohick Half Marathon. The Chi Running method focuses on helping beginning runners complete the half marathon pain and injury free. While great for beginners, the program is also wonderful for athletes who wish to improve their running experience. The program is best suited for people who are able to currently complete a 5K but is open to people just learning to run. This training opportunity will provide a combination of video lessons and technique clinics. Additionally, the e-Chi Training Program includes:
- Four onsite clinics
- Weekly emails with your workout lesson plans and motivational information
- Video lessons of the Chi Running technique
- An easy-to-use online log
- Chi solutions to physical issues
- Comprehensive appendices to answer your questions
- Helpful reports on your progress
- Chi forums to connect with other runners training for the Cohick Half Marathon
- Optional training runs
The special price for this program is $75 and that includes four onsite clinics as well as the e-training sessions and optional runs. For more information and to take advantage of this special offer, check out our website! This price does not include the fee to run the Cohick Half Marathon.
Training begins on Saturday, June 1 at Bass Pro Shops Uncle Buck's Auditorium. We will begin at 8 AM so arrive by 7:45 please. If you are not close enough to Springfield to participate in the onsite clinics, the online video training will help you learn the Chi Running technique.
Awards
Each participant will receive a New Balance long-sleeve tech tee. Those who register early will have the greatest success in getting the size they request. Every attempt will be made to accommodate your request, but sizes cannot be guaranteed. NO EXCHANGES of shirts will be allowed until after the race. Late registrants are not guaranteed a shirt. All finishers will receive Cohick Half Marathon medals.
Cash prizes are all given to the top three male/female finishers as well as the top masters male and female finishers. The prizes are as follows:

*Winners will not be allowed to exchange awards.
Additionally, age group winners will receive plaques. Runners are not able to win more than one award. If you win an overall award, you will not win an age group award.
Packet Pickup Information
Packet Pickup and late registration will take place:
- Friday, November 1 from 10 AM to 7 PM
- Saturday, November 2 from 10 AM to 7 PM
There will be no race day packet pick-up or registration for those running the marathon, half or marathon relay.
Aid Stations
Aid stations will be located approximately every two miles on the full and half courses. Porta Potties will be located near the aid stations. Powerade and water will be available at aid. Jelly Belly Sport Beans will be available at miles 10, 18.5 and 22 for full marathon runners. Half marathoners will get Jelly Bellys at miles, 4 and 8.75.
5K runners will have one aid station available approximately half-way through the course. Water and Powerade will be served.
Bag Check
Race day bag check will be available for all races. Place your warm-up clothes in your pack, attach your bag check number and make sure to keep your copy of the number. Watch for posted signs to mark bag check locations.
Medical & Emergency Support Services
Our OFF Medical Director is Dr. Landon Hough, Mercy Sports Medicine physician. Dr. Hough and his team of physicians, athletic trainers and EMS services will provide medical care for our participants.
